Here I am, This is me, There is nowhere Else on earth am gonna be... So goes the song by Bryan Adams, one of my favorite artists. This may not be his best track to date but the lyrics are something, that I just can't stop humming whenever I land in Bangalore or Mumbai, my first stop before heading home. This time I landed in Bangalore, and the humming was louder than usual as Laila had turned the Bangalore weather at it's awesomest best! I landed around 1030 hrs, a good 60 min off the scehduled arrival time but that was the last thing on my mind. As in my previous experience with BIAL, this was no exception. Immigration officers were courteous for a change and the baggage was already waiting for me on the belt. I was out in less than 10 min, can you believe that?
This may be my longest visit home since December 2007. A good 2 weeks is what I can afford after deciding to change jobs and thanks to the balance of 13 days annual leave I had left before my last date. I talked to my Prof and understandingly he agreed to let me off with just under two week's notice. There was a catch though. I had to finish up on the report I was working on and ensure there is sufficient background info for my replacement to take over from where I left my work. That meant working for late hours for two weeks on trot and I was game for it. So here I am after two weeks of breaking my back at work, heading back home.
The timing of my visit couldn't have been better, though my sis would disagree as with every other time, my visit is clashing with her end sem exams. Damn the VTU schedule! Coming back, there was this cousin's wedding in early June which meant I could get to meet all my cousins, after a really long time. I don't even remember when was the last time we all got to hang out together.
There are a hundred things on my To Do list right now, and I tick off the one thing dearest to me: updating my blog on the move. Yeah, am drafting this post on my iPhone sitting in a jam packed train(eventhough it's a reservation boogie), heading to Dharwad from Bangalore. Though the post will go live a little later, when I can find a wi-fi hotspot or a SIM card with Internet access, but the thrill of blogging is too strong for me to procrastinate. Yeah, stuff likes this happen from time to time with me!
I will be travelling around for a while now and may not get much time on the web. Till then, adios my friends.
